Would YOU Like To Be Certified As A CNA-1?

Maybe you are thinking about taking the test so you can get your certificate. But the CNA-1 test can make you feel anxious. You don’t know exactly what to expect and you wonder if you can really pass the exam. You might be saying things like…

“I heard the test is hard.”
“What kind of grade do I have to make?”
“I know some people who failed the test. It must be hard to pass”
“Does experience help my chances of passing the test?”
“What all is in the test?”
“How can I prepare for the test?”

The Truth About The CNA-1 Test

Giving care is one of the most honorable professions in the world. The best caregiving requires both heart and knowledge. Experience is icing on the cake. No one can give you a heart of caring. We hope you have that already. And experience, well, you automatically get that by doing the work.

But we can help you with the knowledge part, which is what you need to pass the test.

The CNA exam can be a difficult test, and many people fail it, especially their first time taking it. But…

  • What if you knew what was going to be on the test?
  • What if you knew how the test was set up?
  • What if you could see the skills being performed in a step-by-step fashion?
  • What if you could take a practice written test?
  • What if you had a way to practice for the test in a self-paced course on a computer on your own time?

If you knew the answers to these questions, would you feel better about taking the exam? Would you feel like you had more confidence? Would you feel that you had a much better chance of getting a passing grade?

Below is a screen shot of one of the lessons in the training window:

To greatly increase your chances of passing the CNA-1 test, we have developed a practice training course that will help you prepare for it. It is called the CNA-1 Exam Practice Course.

The course is a complete audio/slide show training program, a very easy to use training module that you access online using your own computer. It is divided into thirty topics, with each topic containing several lessons.

One really great thing about this exam practice course is that it's self-paced, which means you can go through the lessons at your convenience. It's a great way to help you prepare for the real test.

The first several topics help prepare you for the test day. We especially highlight important points about the two parts of the exam – the written test and the skills test. There is even a fully interactive practice written test you can take within the course.

Then, we cover twenty-four skills topics that cover all the skills you might have to perform during the real test.

Each skill topic has four lessons:

  1. Introduction - gives you some brief information about the skill.
  2. Step-by-Step Instructions - a lesson that shows you, through a slide show presentation, how to perform that skill.
  3. Test Your Knowledge - is a practical way to test how well you know the order of steps in the skill. You must number the steps in the proper order (don’t worry… we show you how to do this).
  4. Tips & Techniques – this lesson will give you valuable tips you need to know that will improve your chances of successfully performing that skill.
After you purchase the practice course, you will be given a special link that will take you to the course page.

Why You Need The CNA-1 Certification

Maybe you are a caregiver with some health care experience. Perhaps you don’t have any experience yet, but you want to work as a CNA. There are many advantages of being certified as a CNA over being non-certified.

Many facilities will not hire caregivers unless they have certification. In the modern day health environment, you are expected to have a greater knowledge base than ever before.

In times past, just being a warm body to fill a quota might have been enough to satisfy state requirements. Not anymore! Today’s nurse aides are far more likely to be highly trained to do tasks that only nurses could do not that many years ago.

Caregivers today need a minimal level of competence that proves they can handle the health care demands of patients and residents in different types of settings.

Besides, getting your certification isn’t just something you NEED to do. It’s something you’ll WANT to do. How come? Look at some of the advantages below.

There Are Advantages To Getting Your CNA Certification

Better pay

Who does not want more money? In most facilities, CNAs make more money than non-certified staff. The majority of CNAs now make more per hour than many nurses started out years ago.

Also, many aides now make way above minimum wage. When I was growing up, most CNAs made 2 to 3 bucks an hour. How times have changed!

More opportunities

Getting your certification is a good stepping stone to future advancement. CNAs are more likely to find employment opportunities within the organization. Being the “lead” tech or supervisor is common for CNAs, especially in long-term care facilities. Some are even administrators in these homes.

What’s more, the CNA certification is not only an end in itself, but can also be a means to an end. For example, getting certified is often a stepping stone to getting into nursing school. In fact, many nursing schools require that you be a nurse aide before you even register for classes. Want to be a nurse? Got to be a CNA first.

Some of the greatest opportunities are available to those who have an independent streak. Many CNAs are very smart, business-minded individuals. Some have even started their own companies.
One of the most successful business persons I know began as an aide years ago working in an assisted living facility. Now, she owns several facilities herself and her family runs a highly successful organization.

One route that many CNAs take is in the private duty sector. More and more consumers expect that caregivers who come into their homes be certified, as this assures a certain level of competence and ability. You are more likely to find work as a private duty aide if you are certified.

Greater self-esteem

Nothing leads to personal satisfaction quite like success. Having passed the competency exam for CNA certification, your confidence soars! You feel good about yourself. You are more likely to take on other challenges in the future.

Increased independence

Don’t like your current job? You are not a prisoner there. Getting your CNA-1 certification opens doors for you that were blocked before.

You’ll have greater options in working for hospitals, nursing homes, family care homes, assisted living, home health agencies, private duty, even starting your own business!

If You Are From North Carolina…

CNA stands for Certified Nurse Aide. The state of North Carolina requires that anyone who wants to practice as a Certified Nurse Aide-1 be registered in the North Carolina Nurse Aide Registry.

According to state law, to be registered you must pass a state-approved nurse aide I training program and state approved competency evaluation, OR simply the state-approved competency evaluation.

What this means is that you have to take a training course and pass the final test, OR just take and pass the test. In other words, CNA-I training is not required, but the test IS required.

Whether or not you take a state approved CNA training program, you WILL have to take the final test in order to be a CNA-1. The final test is what our practice course will help you with.

CNA training, although not required, is recommended, especially if you have had no previous training or experience in giving care. Successful candidates tend to be those who have had the CNA-I training, student nurses, CNAs who were certified in other states, and those who were once CNAs but let their certification expire.

Our training module, the CNA-1 Exam Practice Course, will greatly increase your chances of passing the CNA-1 test. Purchase your copy now!
